We all face times in our lives where, in the words of the poet W. B. Yeats, "Things fall apart." This sense of crisis may be precipitated by unwanted changes in our external circumstances, such as a relationship ending, the loss of a loved one, or problems within our family or at work. Alternatively, the catalyst might be an inner crisis, such as the onset of a serious illness, heightened feelings of anxiety or depression, or the loss of one's sense of purpose or meaning. Very often, it is a combination of the two, and these experiences can leave us feeling suddenly mapless, rudderless and adrift in a world where our old patterns and strategies, many of which date back to early childhood, no longer seem to serve our purposes, leaving us to ask "What now?"
When faced by these 'between-times', we can feel very lost, alone and like even our dearest friends and loved ones lack the knowledge and ability to help and support us as we face the uncertainty of the unknown. It is therefore crucial to enlist the assistance of someone with the training and experience to help us traverse the difficult terrain of what the depth psychologist, James Hollis, termed as "the swamplands of the soul."
As an integrative therapist, I have the skills to help you find your way with whatever you are facing. It is my great privilege to walk alongside my clients as they take their journey towards greater self-awareness, personal meaning and inner-freedom. Whilst I cannot guarantee that the process will be easy, with the right support, I have witnessed many times my clients identify their limiting patterns, discover their inner resources and deepen their relationship with themselves, their loved ones, and with the wider world around them- and all for the better!
Choosing to start therapy is an important step and I aim to make the process as straightforward as possible. I work online as it allows my clients to access their sessions from a location that is comfortable and convenient for them, without the hassle of navigating traffic or worrying about finding parking.
As a first step, I offer a preliminary 20-minute consultation at no charge to discuss your needs and to see whether we are 'the right fit' to work together. Please visit my 'info' page here for more about sessions, timings and pricing.
